Summer is here and I'm happy that it is. Jill finished school this week, but Grant and I have to go through Friday. I have the week off from my TTT course, so I'm going to catch up on some reading and TV. There was baseball I could watch yesterday and I can watch some again today, so you can bet I'll be doing that. Few things bring me joy more than baseball and a book in my lap for between innings. I can't believe this is the 400th time I've done a Sunday Shuffle. I've had periods where I wandered away from the feature over the last 9 1/2 years, but I always come back. I've liked the idea of shuffle mode ever since I got a 5 CD changer in the early 1990s. I love listening to albums, of course, but it's nice to mix things up and hear songs in a different context. I've always been into stats and being able to see my play counts has been enjoyable too. It's always nice to hear that people like scrolling through my list each week, but I've always wanted to share the music. I like the Spotify affords me the opportunity to let everyone hear what I hear each Sunday morning; I hope you're enjoying listening along. In the weeks leading up to this, I've thought about announcing that I would be retiring this feature for a while. You may have noticed there wasn't a Sunday Shuffle last week. Somehow the play count for the new Redd Kross album reset as I was listening to it and I thought, do I really want to keep this feature going? I almost stopped when I hit #300 and, in hindsight, I probably should have. I can't leave it on an odd number, however, so I will do one more today. That's not to say I'll never do this again but it will probably be intermittent at best. I do have an idea for a feature to replace it, about which I'll say more next week. I still haven't listened to all the music I downloaded as Christmas presents, so there could be some first time plays. Let's see what pops up... 1.
