Heavy Rotation #22

It's been a while since I've done one of these entries, a combination of a lack of focus during the summer and how Spotify has changed my listening habits. Over the past couple weeks, however, I've been coming back to three albums over and over... Nada Surf/The Weight Is A Gift - This album is not new to me; I'm pretty sure I bought it the day it came out back in 2005 (when I still bought CDs on a regular basis). I was a big fan of their previous album, Let Go , and had high expectations for this one. I was not disappointed. Why am I listening to it a bunch now? I came back for "Always Love," the soaring song of positivity that is one of my unofficial theme songs. Once I started listening, I couldn't stop. This is melodic rock/power pop of the highest order and the first 7 songs are unimpeachable. After a few quieter ones, it closes with the charging "Imaginary Friends."
