Alligator , the breakthrough album from The National, turned 10 earlier this week. It was the first time I'd heard of the band; KEXP played "Abel" quite a bit, as I recall. It took my friend Mike (who blogged as Little Toy Robot) talking up the album as a whole for me to pick it up; he was absolutely right about it being great. I became an instant fan of the band and I think they've only gotten better. Their music can be a little gloomy but the reason why I'm titling this "Sorrow" is that is one of their songs, a song they once played for many hours straight.
