I finished in the pool on Friday, started my classwork yesterday, and start school on Wednesday. The calendar says summer lasts for another month plus, but it is quickly coming to an end mentally. I'm gearing up to make this a great school year - my 9th at Central. I'll be student teaching starting in March, which will be here before I know it, I'm sure. I'm going to do my best to balance between school and school and swimming lessons and life, to try to not get bogged down in the work and stress about it. I know I won't be able to engage in pop culture as much as I'd like, but that's okay. I'll appreciate every book I do get to read or TV show I'm able to keep up with. The one good thing is that music is always able to be a constant. Don't know what I'd do without it. Anyway, I got a little rambly this morning and I apologize if I bored you. It's the last Shuffle of the summer season - school starts back up on Wednesday. Of course, summer is actually still going on and the weather is certainly typical for August - my 4.75 mile run this morning was rough in the humidity. I do have a couple days off, which I will enjoy as much as I can. Anyway, it's already after 9:00, so I'd better get to today's ten... 1. I wasn't 100% sure I was going to continue the shuffle in 2015. I got burned out on it last year and went 4 1/2 months without doing one. When I did one at the end of September, I thought I might dip my toe in and out but ended up getting back into the swing. I'm enjoying the process again. Another reason to keep this feature going is that my other long-standing Sunday morning tradition has come to an end. For well over a decade (and probably for at least 15 years) I watched The Sports Reporters on ESPN. This past week, however, we cut our cable and I no longer can watch. I will definitely miss that ritual, so it's going to be good to keep this one going, at least for a while. If I do stick with this throughout the year, I will reach #400 before the end of the year. I had a lot of events this past week - running my first 5K, attending a fantastic graduation party thrown for me by my wife and mother, getting sick, and more. There is more to come today and tomorrow with graduation and after that, things should start to settle back down with the end of the school year rapidly approaching. It's the third day of a four day weekend. My biggest task for the day is to try and get 7 or 8 pages of the first part of my Capstone paper, which will be 25 pages or so when it's all said and done.
